Cook time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
* 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
* Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook until tender-crisp, about 5 minutes.
* Drain green beans and immediately transfer to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for at least 15 seconds.
* Drain green beans again and spread them on a kitchen towel or paper towels to dry.
* Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
* Add green beans, salt, and pepper to the skillet and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
* Serve hot.
Tips:
* For a spicier green bean dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the skillet with the garlic.
* You can also add other seasonings to the green beans, such as lemon zest, grated Parmesan cheese, or chopped nuts.
* Green beans are a versatile side dish and can be served with a variety of main courses, such as grilled chicken, fish, or steak.
Enjoy!
