Yields: 8 servings
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 25-30 minutes
Ingredients:
* 5 cups rolled oats
* 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans, etc.)
* 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
* 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
* 1/4 cup sesame seeds
* 1/4 cup chia seeds (optional)
* 1/4 cup honey
* 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
* 1/4 cup maple syrup
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
* Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
* Combine dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, coconut flakes, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds (if using), cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
* Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract.
* Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and stir until all the oats are evenly coated.
* Spread on baking sheet: Spread the granola mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
* Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
* Cool and store: Let the granola cool completely on the baking sheet before breaking it into clusters. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Tips:
* Customize your granola: Add your favorite dried fruits, seeds, or spices to make it your own.
* Make it gluten-free: Use certified gluten-free oats.
* Make it nut-free: Substitute the nuts with seeds or leave them out entirely.
* Make it vegan: Use vegan butter or oil instead of coconut oil.
Enjoy your homemade granola with yogurt, milk, or on its own as a healthy snack!
