Classic Hummus Recipe
Yields: 4 servings

Ingredients:
* 1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
* 1/4 cup tahini
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
* 1/4 cup olive oil
* 1 teaspoon ground cumin
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* Paprika or red pepper flakes, for garnish
* Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
* Pita bread or vegetables, for serving
Instructions:
* Combine ingredients: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, salt, and pepper.
* Blend: Blend until smooth and creamy, adding a tablespoon or two of water if needed to reach desired consistency.
* Transfer and garnish: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with additional olive oil, if desired. Sprinkle with paprika or red pepper flakes and chopped parsley.
* Serve: Serve with pita bread, pita chips, or your favorite vegetables, such as carrots, celery, or bell peppers.
Tips:
* For a smoother hummus, you can peel the chickpeas before blending.
* Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
* Use roasted garlic for a richer flavor.
* Experiment with different herbs and spices, such as smoked paprika, dried oregano, or za'atar.
* Hummus can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
