Til Ke Laddu (Sesame Seed Ladoo) Recipe
Yields: 20-25 ladoos
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
* 1 cup sesame seeds (til)
* 1 cup jaggery, grated
* 1/4 cup chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, or peanuts)
* 1 tablespoon ghee
* 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
* 1 tablespoon water (optional)
Instructions
* Roast Sesame Seeds: Heat a dry skillet over medium heat. Add sesame seeds and roast for 5-7 minutes, stirring constantly, until they turn golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
* Prepare Jaggery: In a saucepan, combine grated jaggery and water (if using). Heat on low heat, stirring continuously, until the jaggery melts completely and forms a smooth syrup.
* Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine roasted sesame seeds, chopped nuts, cardamom powder, and melted jaggery. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.
* Shape Ladoos: Grease your palms with a little ghee. Take a small amount of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form a ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture to form ladoos of desired size.
* Store: Store the ladoos in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Tips & Variations:
* For a richer flavor, roast the nuts along with the sesame seeds.
* You can add a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon powder for additional flavor.
* For a healthier option, use jaggery powder instead of grated jaggery.
* If the mixture is too dry, add a few drops of water to bind it together.
Enjoy your delicious and healthy Til Ke Laddu!
