   * 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley

   * 2 bay leaves

   * Salt and pepper to taste

   * 1 (10 ounce) package frozen dumplings

 * Instructions:

   * Place chicken, onion, carrots, celery, chicken broth, parsley, and bay leaves in the slow cooker.

   * Season with salt and pepper.

   * Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until chicken is very tender.

   * Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred.

   * Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker.

   * Drop frozen dumplings on top of the chicken and broth.

   * 2 cups beef broth

   * 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained

   * 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

   * 1 teaspoon dried thyme

   * 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

   * 1 bay leaf

 * Instructions:

   * Place beef, onion, carrots, celery, beef broth, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, black pepper, and bay leaf in the slow cooker.

   * Cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until beef is very tender.

   * Add potatoes and cook for an additional 1-2 hours, or until potatoes are tender.

   * Remove bay leaf before serving.
