Ginger Milk Tea (Adrak Chai)

Cook time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients:

 * 2 cups water

 * 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped or grated

 * 2 teaspoons black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)

 * 1 cup milk

 * 2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

 * Pinch of cardamom pods (optional)

 * Pinch of cinnamon stick (optional)

Instructions:

 * Boil Water: In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.

 * Add Ginger: Add the chopped or grated ginger to the boiling water.

 * Simmer: Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes to infuse the ginger flavor.

 * Add Tea: Add the black tea leaves (or tea bags) and cardamom pods (if using) to the saucepan. Simmer for another 5 minutes.

 * Add Milk: Pour in the milk and bring the mixture back to a gentle simmer.

 * Sweeten: Add sugar and stir well to dissolve.

 * Strain: Strain the tea into mugs using a fine-mesh sieve to remove tea leaves and ginger pieces.
