Chewy Chocolate Brownies
Yields: 16 brownies
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 25-30 minutes
Ingredients:
* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
* 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
* 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 large eggs
* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
* Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
* Melt butter and chocolate: In a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method), melt butter and chocolate chips, stirring occasionally, until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
* Combine wet ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs until well combined.
* Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
* Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
* Stir in chocolate chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
* Bake: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
* Cool and serve: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting and serving.
Tips:
* For fudgier brownies, underbake slightly.
* For cakier brownies, bake for a few extra minutes.
* Add nuts or other mix-ins for extra flavor and texture.
* Top with powdered sugar or chocolate ganache for an extra decadent treat.
Enjoy your delicious homemade brownies!
