Gluten-Free Steak House Pizza
Ingredients:
For the Gluten-Free Pizza Crust:
1 1/2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour (make sure it has xanthan gum)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup warm water
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional, for extra flavor)
For the Toppings:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles (optional)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 tsp dried rosemary)
2 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)
Salt and pepper, to taste
---
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Pizza Crust:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In a separate large bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, salt, baking powder, and garlic powder (if using).
Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until the dough comes together, adding more water if needed.
Knead the dough for about 2-3 minutes, then transfer it to a lightly floured surface. Roll out to your desired pizza shape (about 10-12 inches in diameter).
Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza stone.
2. Cook the Steak:
In a skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Season the thinly sliced steak with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes, just until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. Prepare the Toppings:
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and mushrooms. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Season with a little salt and pepper.
4. Assemble the Pizza:
Brush the pizza crust with olive oil.
Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella and provolone cheese over the crust.
Evenly distribute the sautéed mushrooms, onions, and cooked steak over the cheese.
Add blue cheese crumbles if using, and sprinkle with chopped rosemary.
5. Bake:
Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
6. Finish and Serve:
Remove the pizza from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired for added flavor.
Slice and serve warm!
