Addicting Caramel Apple Crisp Bars

Addicting Caramel Apple Crisp Bars are a delicious dessert that combines sweet, caramelized apples with a buttery, crumbly topping. The layers of caramel and apples make these bars irresistibly good! Here's a recipe to make them:

Ingredients:

For the apple layer:

3 cups peeled and diced apples (about 2 medium apples)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

For the crumble topping:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into small cubes

For the caramel sauce:

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the apple layer:

In a medium bowl, toss the diced apples with granulated sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour. The flour helps to thicken the juices as the apples cook.

Set the apple mixture aside.

3. Make the crumble topping:

In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.

Add the cold butter cubes to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter, fork, or your hands to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

4. Assemble the bars:

Press about 2/3 of the crumble mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.

Evenly spread the apple mixture on top of the crust layer.

Sprinkle the remaining crumble topping over the apples.

5. Bake:

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are soft and bubbly.

6. Make the caramel sauce:

While the bars are baking, make the caramel sauce by combining the butter, brown sugar, heavy cream, and salt in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Stir the mixture continuously until it begins to boil, then let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

7. Finish the bars:

Once the bars are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes.

Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the warm bars. Let the caramel set as the bars cool to room temperature.

8. Cut and serve:

Once cooled, cut into squares or bars. The caramel apple crisp bars can be served warm or at room temperature.

These Addicting Caramel Apple Crisp Bars are a perfect combination of warm, spiced apple

s, rich caramel, and a crumbly topping. The result is a dessert that’s impossible to stop eating!
