Classic Guacamole Recipe
Yields: 4 servings

Ingredients:
* 3 ripe avocados
* 1/4 cup diced red onion
* 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
* 1/4 cup diced tomato
* 1 jalapeƱo pepper, seeded and minced (optional)
* 1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
* 1 lime, juiced
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
Instructions:
* Prep the avocados: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh into a medium bowl.
* Mash the avocados: Mash the avocados with a fork until they reach your desired consistency. Some people like it chunky, while others prefer it smooth.
* Add the rest: Stir in the diced onion, chopped cilantro, diced tomato, jalapeƱo (if using), garlic (if using), lime juice, salt, and cumin (if using).
* Taste and adjust: Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasonings as needed. Add more lime juice, salt, or jalapeƱo for extra spice.
* Serve: Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or use as a topping for tacos, burritos, or nachos.
Tips:
* Choose ripe avocados: Ripe avocados will be slightly soft to the touch.
* Add-ins: Get creative with your guacamole! Try adding diced mango, chopped serrano peppers, or a sprinkle of cotija cheese.
* Storage: To prevent browning, cover the guacamole with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
* Make ahead: You can make guacamole a day in advance. Just store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature before serving.
