Dulce De Leche Tiramisu

Dulce de Leche Tiramisu is a rich and indulgent twist on the classic Italian dessert, combining the creamy, caramel-like flavor of dulce de leche with the traditional layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone. Here's how to make it:

---

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream, chilled

8 oz (225g) mascarpone cheese, softened

1 cup (300g) dulce de leche

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Layers:

1 1/2 cups (360ml) strong espresso or coffee, cooled

3 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)

20-24 ladyfingers (savoiardi)

For the Topping:

2 tbsp cocoa powder, for dusting

Grated dark chocolate (optional)

---

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Coffee Mixture:

In a shallow bowl, combine the espresso and coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside to cool.

2. Make the Cream Mixture:

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

In another bowl, beat the mascarpone, dulce de leche, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined. Set aside.

3. Assemble the Tiramisu:

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are moist but not soggy.

Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x9-inch dish (or a similar-sized serving dish).

Spread half of the dulce de leche cream mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.

Repeat with another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture.

4. Chill:

Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.

5. Add the Topping:

Before serving, dust the top generously with cocoa powder and sprinkle with grated dark chocolate, if desired.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled, slicing into squares or scooping with a spoon.

Pair with a cup of coffee or espresso for a decadent treat.

This Dulce de Leche Tiramisu is a luxurious dessert that will impress your guests and satisfy your sweet tooth!
