Ingredients:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1-inch thick)
2 large onions, thinly sliced
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
1/2 cup goat cheese, crumbled
Fresh thyme or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:
1. Prepare the Onions:
Heat 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and golden brown (about 15-20 minutes).
Add balsamic vinegar, stir, and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove onions from the skillet and set aside.
2. Cook the Steaks:
Season steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in the same skillet over medium-high heat.
Add steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (adjust cooking time for desired doneness).
Remove steaks from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes.
3. Assemble:
Place the cooked steaks on a plate. Top with caramelized onions and crumbled goat cheese.
Garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired.
4. Serve:
