Honey-Balsamic BBQ Meatballs

Honey-Balsamic BBQ Meatballs are a sweet, tangy, and savory treat that combines the rich flavors of honey and balsamic vinegar with a smoky BBQ twist. They’re perfect for appetizers, snacks, or even as a main dish. Here's a simple recipe to make them:

Ingredients:

For the Meatballs:

1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup milk

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

For the Honey-Balsamic BBQ Sauce:

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)

1/4 cup honey

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

1 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra smokiness)

For Garnish (optional):

Chopped parsley

Sesame seeds

Instructions:

For the Meatballs:

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Make the Meatball Mixture:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, milk, oregano, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

3. Form the Meatballs:

Use your hands to shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet or a lightly greased baking pan.

4. Bake the Meatballs:

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F/71°C).

For the Honey-Balsamic BBQ Sauce:

1. Combine the Sauce Ingredients:

In a small saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and smoked paprika (if using). Stir everything together over medium heat.

2. Simmer the Sauce:

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. Once the sauce is smooth and bubbly, remove from heat.

To Assemble:

1. Coat the Meatballs:

Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven. Drizzle the honey-balsamic BBQ sauce over the meatballs, or toss the meatballs gently in the sauce until fully coated.

2. Garnish (optional):

Garnish with chopped parsley and sesame seeds if desired.

3. Serve:

Serve the honey-balsamic BBQ meatballs immediately with toothpicks as an appetizer, or over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta as a main dish.

Enjoy your swee

t and savory honey-balsamic BBQ meatballs! They’re sure to be a hit with anyone who loves a good balance of flavors.
