Makhana Recipe (Phool Makhana Snack)

Cook time: 10-12 minutes

Ingredients:

 * 2 cups Foxnuts (Phool Makhana)

 * 1 tablespoon ghee or oil

 * 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

 * 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

 * 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala

 * 1/4 teaspoon black salt (optional)

 * Salt to taste

Instructions:

 * Heat the ghee: Heat ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat.

 * Roast the Foxnuts: Add the foxnuts to the pan and roast, stirring continuously, until they become lightly golden and crispy. This should take about 10-12 minutes.

 * Add spices: Once the foxnuts are roasted, add red chili powder, turmeric powder, chaat masala, black salt (if using), and salt. Mix well to coat evenly.

 * Cool and serve: Transfer the roasted foxnuts to a plate and let them cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

Tips:

 * For extra flavor, you can add other spices like cumin powder, garam masala, or a pinch of asafoetida.

 * You can also add chopped nuts like almonds, cashews, or peanuts to the roasted foxnuts.

 * For a tangy flavor, add a pinch of dry mango powder (amchur).
