---

Ingredients:

1/4 cup unsalted butter (or vegan butter), softened

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large egg (or flax egg for vegan: 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal + 3 tablespoons water)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or dairy-free if needed)

1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chunks

---

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix Wet Ingredients:

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and egg (or flax egg), and beat until well combined.

3. Add Dry Ingredients:

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

4. Fold in Chocolate:

Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chunks.

5. Form the Cookies:

Scoop out the dough into two large balls (about 3 tablespoons of dough per cookie). Place them on the baking sheet, leaving plenty of space for spreading.

6. Bake:

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are firm, but the center is still soft. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
