Air Fryer Apples

Air Fryer Apples are a quick and easy way to enjoy a warm, cinnamon-sweet treat without turning on your oven. They make a great dessert or snack, and you can customize them with different toppings like vegan ice cream or a drizzle of maple syrup.

Ingredients:

4 medium apples (any variety, but Granny Smith or Fuji work well)

2 tbsp coconut oil (or vegan butter), melted

2 tbsp brown sugar (or maple syrup for a refined sugar-free option)

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

1 tbsp chopped nuts (optional, for crunch)

1 tbsp raisins or dried cranberries (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Apples:

Core the apples and cut them into thick rings or wedges, depending on your preference. If cutting into rings, you can use a corer to remove the seeds.

If you prefer, you can also slice the apples in half and scoop out the core.

2. Season the Apples:

In a small bowl, combine the melted coconut oil (or vegan butter), brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).

Brush the apples with the cinnamon-sugar mixture on both sides.

3. Air Fry the Apples:

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Place the apples in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If you're using wedges or halves, make sure they are spaced out so they cook evenly.

Air fry for 8-10 minutes for apple slices or 10-12 minutes for apple halves or wedges, until the apples are tender and caramelized. You can check for doneness by piercing with a fork.

4. Optional Toppings:

After the apples are cooked, you can top them with a sprinkle of chopped nuts, raisins, or dried cranberries for added texture and flavor.

For an extra indulgent treat, serve with a scoop of vegan vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of maple syrup.

5. Serve and Enjoy:

Serve the air fryer apples warm, either on their own or with your favorite toppings.

Tips:

Variety of Apples: You can use any type of apple, but firmer varieties like Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp hold up well in the air fryer.

Make it Crispier: If you prefer a crispier texture, you can air fry the apples a little longer, but be sure to watch them so they don't burn.

Customizing: Feel free to add a bit of vanilla extract or lemon juice to the sugar mix for extra flavor.

These Air Fryer Apples are a simple yet delicious dessert that you can make in minutes, perfect for a warm, comforting treat!
